August is shaping up to be a fun and exciting month, filled with opportunities for children to learn, explore, create, and take part in some very special experiences.
Throughout the month, we will be celebrating a range of meaningful events that support children’s learning, wellbeing, imagination, and curiosity. There is plenty to look forward to, including learning about our dental hygiene, exploring the wonders of science, enjoying story time and learning about safe sleeping!
Dental Hygiene Week | 4th–10th August
We will begin the month with Dental Hygiene Week, where children will have the opportunity to learn more about caring for their teeth in a fun and age-appropriate way.
Through simple conversations, play-based activities, and hands-on learning experiences, children will explore the importance of brushing their teeth, healthy habits, and looking after their big, bright smiles. It will be a wonderful way to help children build confidence and awareness around their daily routines.
National Science Week | 15th–23rd August
Later in the month, we will be celebrating National Science Week, encouraging children to ask questions, make discoveries, and explore how the world around them works.
Science is such an exciting part of early learning, and children naturally love to investigate, experiment, and wonder. It could be mixing, building, observing, or testing new ideas; this week will be full of curiosity and hands-on fun.
Children’s Book Week | 22nd–28th August
We are also looking forward to Children’s Book Week, a special celebration of stories, imagination, and the joy of reading.
As well all know, books play such an important role in children’s learning and development. During Book Week, children will have the chance to enjoy stories, explore favourite characters, and celebrate the magic that comes from reading together.
It will be a lovely opportunity to spark imagination, build language skills, and encourage a lifelong love of books.
Red Nose Day Safe Sleeping | 27th August
On the 27th of August, we will be recognising Red Nose Day Safe Sleeping. This will be an important opportunity to share awareness around safe sleeping practices and support families with helpful information.
More details will be shared closer to the date, so keep an eye out for further updates.
A Month Full of Learning and Fun
August is going to be a wonderful month of learning, discovery, and connection. Each event provides children with meaningful opportunities to explore new ideas, build confidence, and take part in experiences that support their growth and development.
We can’t wait to share these special moments with our children and families throughout the month.
