Stories have a special way of bringing magic into the day. They help children imagine new worlds, meet exciting characters, learn new words, and build a lifelong love of reading.
This Children’s Book Week, our centre was filled with colour, creativity, and plenty of excitement as the children celebrated the joy of books and storytelling.
Throughout the week, children had the opportunity to explore different stories, share their favourite books, and take part in fun learning experiences inspired by the wonderful world of reading. From picture books and rhymes to imaginative play and group story time, there were so many opportunities for children to listen, wonder, create, and dream.
Bringing Stories to Life
One of the most exciting parts of Children’s Book Week is seeing stories come to life. Children were encouraged to use their imaginations, talk about their favourite characters, and engage in playful experiences connected to the books they love.
Whether they were dressing up, creating artwork, acting out stories, or joining in group reading experiences, the children were able to explore books in a fun and meaningful way.
These moments help children build confidence, creativity, and communication skills while having so much fun with their friends and educators.
Why Reading Matters
Books play such an important role in early childhood development. Reading together helps children build language skills, expand their vocabulary, strengthen listening skills, and develop their imagination.
