There are many moments throughout the year where the community comes together to learn, play, and celebrate. Recently, there was a very special opportunity to come together to support an important cause with our “Walk for Nia.”
On the 26th of March, children, educators, and families all joined in to show their support, creating a beautiful moment of connection, kindness, and community.
A Sea of Blue
To mark the occasion, everyone came dressed in blue as this is the colour that represents support for diabetes awareness. It was wonderful to see the centre filled with a sea of blue, with children proudly taking part and showing their support in their own special way.
These shared experiences also help the children begin to understand the importance of helping others and being part of a caring community.
Walking Together
The highlight of the day was heading outside for our walk together. Children and educators enjoyed completing a few laps of the car park, moving, chatting, and sharing smiles along the way.
Even though the weather was a little warm, it didn’t take away from the excitement. After the walk, everyone headed back inside to cool down, relax, and reflect on the fun they had together.
Supporting a Meaningful Cause
The Walk for Nia was all about raising awareness and funds for Diabetes Australia, supporting those living with diabetes and helping make a difference in the community.
A big “THANK YOU!” goes to all the families and educators who contributed and donated. Every contribution, big or small, helped support this important cause.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity, Nia has now reached her incredible goal of raising $1,000, which is an amazing achievement that the whole community can feel proud of.
A Special Thank You
A special thank you also goes to Peter, who kindly supported the fundraiser by donating $300 on top of the $296 raised at the centre, helping make an even bigger impact.
Acts of kindness like this show the true spirit of community and generosity. Everything that makes up Believe!
Learning Through Community Experiences
Participating in events such as the Walk for Nia not only helps one of our own, but also helps the children begin to understand empathy, kindness, and the importance of helping others. Even at a young age, they can learn that small actions, like walking together or wearing a certain colour, can be part of something meaningful.
These experiences help build a strong sense of belonging and encourage children to grow into caring and compassionate individuals.
A Day to Remember
The Walk for Nia was a beautiful reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together. It was a day filled with positivity, connection, and purpose.
Thank you to everyone who took part, donated, and supported this special event. Together, we made a difference.
